Welcome to Britannia Bay

Situated in St Helena Bay only 90min drive from Cape Town on the West Coast you will find a little uncommercialized peace of Heaven called Britannia Bay. The area got its name after a British East Indiaman ship “The Britannia” which was badly damaged by a reef in the bay in 1826. The ship was rediscovered in January 1998.

The wreck of the "Britannia Bay" has been placed under the supervision of the Council for National Monuments. It is right here on the beach where you will find SeaScape Wellness Guest House. Surrounded with tranquility, a ocean paradise. Fall asleep at night and wake up in the morning to the sound of the ocean as the waves brake and remind you of just how blessed you are to enjoy and be part of this amazing experience. This is the time when you reconnect with spirit in gratitude as you breathe in the crisp ocean air and the greatness of creation that is all around you.

Britannia Bay also the home to heaviside’s dolphins that can be seen from the deck while drinking your morning tea. Dusky and common dolphins also pop into the bay to show off and say hallo. From August to November the sight of Southern Right Whales will leave you speechless as they all come to the bay to calve. A spectacular sight. Humpback and even Killer Whales are locals to St Helena Bay. One of only 3 bays in the world where the sun rises and sets over the same bay.

Make use of the opportunity to embrace nature, take a step back from technology and everyday stresses and get a new perspective on your life’s journey. Clarity and calmness will come to your spirit, bringing with it inner peace as you reflect and become aware that your body does not define you, that your soul reflects who you are. One of the simplest ways to clear your mind and ground yourself again is by taking a long walk on the beach as you bury your feet deep in the golden white sand, appreciating where you are, healing will follow by opening yourself, to receive - body, mind and soul.
